5. The ‘No Blood on the Knife’ Rule
This one is deadly serious.
After taking down an animal, hunters must ‘blood’ their knife—meaning they must smear it with the animal’s blood.
If they clean it immediately? Bad luck will follow.
This superstition is deeply rooted in ancient hunting traditions. Hunters believed that a clean knife offended the spirits of the hunt.
One old-timer in Canada followed this rule religiously. A younger hunter mocked it and cleaned his knife right after a fresh kill. The next time he went hunting? He fell from his tree stand and broke his leg.
Now? No one in that hunting group dares to break the rule.
